YOUTH: GLOBAL OBJECTIVES COLLABORATIVE ACTION

The only thing that remains constant is Change. Society is in the continuous process of change. And those who are adoptive to change fit the best and give the best result like said by Charles Darwin in his theory ‘Survival of the Fittest’. But, the challenge is to adopt all those changes for the betterment of the individual, society and the world. World is a global village now. Due to the rapid increase in new technology, influence of people in different social networking sites like Twitter, facebook, Linked in etc, communication is much more easier and sharing, exploring of the knowledge, views was never easier like now which makes it evolution of new era. Not only every individual can speak, can express and make a network of likeminded people but also they have influence in various political, social, economic, developmental sectors. Egyptian revolution even known as Twitter revolution has proved the power of social media and the youth and their involvement for giving new direction to the scenario. It won’t be wrong if we say the world is in the transition phase right now.

Talking about the year 2011, Turmoil in the Arab world, deepening crisis on financial markets, disaster in Japan were the major events of 2011 and these events directly affect the present world we are living and the future we will be creating. The revolution in Arab shows the end of the tyranny from the World and increased people conscience for their rights to live in democratic way. It also depicts the power of youth, power of people and power of social media. Another influencing person to be known for youth is most prominent youth leader Camila Vallego, 23 years, of Chilli who led a movement for better access to quality of education that had paralyzed the country and shattered Chile’s image as Latin America’s greatest political and economic success story. She is the icon for the emerging youth leader who gave message to whole world that we necessarily should not follow the old outdated trend, we have to stand up and start acting for the new change for betterment. It’s the demand of time for youth to be the part of change and lead the various sectors including politics.

Because of the fluctuation in financial markets, many people lost their jobs and their struggle for lives is getting severe. The gap between haves and haves not are increasing. The wealthier people are living more sophisticated life where as other people are going through more hardships. The Wall Street movement in United States of America was one of the results of this crisis. Due to new technology people are getting more platforms to share whereas due to decrease in value of money people with lower income rate are living miserably. What can we do to bridge between those different people who are having sophisticated life and those who are in poverty level? We have to act to decrease the barrier, to uplift the underprivileged group. Though human wants are unlimited and problems are not going to end but we have to take in account that every people should live the life with basic needs of food, shelter, clothes, education and infrastructures etc. World is being materialistic but if we don’t start thinking about humanity wisely now then a huge accident can occur and we may not even get a chance to regret. Now the time has arrived to think rationally and act globally so as to achieve the millennium development goal which is not so far.

 Everything is unpredictable and it is always that nature is the supreme power. The heart rendering Tsunami story of Japan says it all. Just in a blink of eye it can destroy everything and we don’t have any option then facing it and moving on. Many natural disasters, earthquakes are welcoming us in the future which can bring massive changes to the mankind. Though we don’t have full power to control the nature but our act does help to decrease the loss and the preventive measures will protect the environment. Global Warming is the major environmental problem and if we don’t act soon it will be too late. With modernization, we are bringing many things which deteriorate our lives. It is the time to make everything natural and help earth get its natural state. Though its not possible to revert but our development plan must be environmental friendly. The non renewable sources of energy should be used wisely or other alternative sources of energy must be created. We must priorities to create alternative sources of energy rather than preferring non renewable sources of energy and Its time to follow 3R - Reduce, Reuse and Recycle seriously.

Youth today in the world are facing some common major problems like Unemployment, substance abuse, generation gap etc. But for the youth of developing nations the list of problems is longer like political crisis, lack of infrastructure, education, health, facilities etc. Youths today are in the state of chaos, the pace of development is so fast and it is a major challenge for them to adopt themselves to this change. It is even tougher for the youths of developing countries who lacks various facilities and has to compete with all those youth around in this global village.

Being the youth of the developing country like Nepal, I can say that we have lots of hopes, dreams not only for our life but also for our country and for the people of our country. Seeing other people of the world enjoying 21^st century with modern technologies and facilities fullest, we also dream for that and often saddened by the differences of lives we dream and lives we are living. Those who is tough enough to accept challenge and believe in changing dreams in reality work hard to make it real in various sectors like social work, Engineering, Business, Politics etc and remaining either go abroad for jobs or stay in the country with lots of dissatisfaction, complains and frustration. After facing the conflict of about twelve years our country itself is in the state of chaos and it takes time to change gradually. Youth need good environment, employment opportunity and motivation to stay in the country. Political stability also plays the major role. For providing platform to their creativity, program like self employment should be given priority for the skilled manpower and necessary skill based training should be provided to the unskilled people. Besides that, in developing countries society has lots of superstition, orthodox values, social taboos which are unscientific, not relevant but still in practice and these practices became barrier to the individual’s better life. It is also the major challenges because those traditions are into practice since hundreds of years and can’t be changed easily. It should be taken into account that unless social structures are not modified, it is very hard to bring new ideas of development and adopt the new practices of the world. But it is the time to awaken and make ourselves free from those superstitions, those old outdated values and adopt the new concept to prepare ourselves for the competition to deal with whole world and make it the better place to live.

Nothing is going to change in one blink but with the constant effort, motivation, passion and unity. We can achieve what we desire for ourselves and what we want for the future of our world. Tomorrow is not promised to anyone and if we want to make a change then we must start it from today, right now. After all we are the youth, the change maker.

Facebook and Twitter BLACK protest

The whole week facebook and twitter users strongly protest against Lokman Singh Karki’s recommendation as chief commissioner of commission for Investigation of Abuse Authority (CIAA) 

Despite the wide protest all around he was appointed in 8th May, 2013 formally. To regard this as a black day of democracy and show their strong condemnation many youth using facebook and twitter painted their wall black. Lokman was chief secretary during the reign of former king Gyanendra Shah and  had direct involvement in suppressing the people's movement-II 2006. Many users also changed their profile/display pictures also too black color.

One of the facebook users wrote, "The one who is against the appointment of karki in NC and UML should show courage to kick out their top leaders from the party or else it is only Nautangi to fool the people and loot the nation Specially people like Gagan Thapa (NC)and Pokheral (UML)etc who wants to get the sympathy of people by camouflaging themselves as against the present appointment of karki should understand that - you cannot fool all the people every time" Agreeing with this statement, personally i believe that its high time that youth leaders should take a stand against the wrong decision of the older leaders of political  parties.

With increasing internet users, social media is playing significant role to express the feeling of individual and raise their voice. Though the voices are being raised, the question is "What it results to and who will acknowledge these frustrations and questions of social media? Will it affect the responsible target group? To what extent?

Rule your life: It is in your hand

Early morning I woke up with lots of hope. When my eyes opened I said to myself I will be happy whole day. Last night, last day I felt quite bad. I was pissed off, angry, sad, frustrated but I seriously hate that part of me. I knew I have to pull myself out from it. Yes, I was successful in it. My strong determination of being happy really worked. After I woke up, I made tea, then cooked food for family, behaved nicely to everyone tried to make them happy and everyone liked my dish too and everyone is happy. One thing I realized that unless you are not happy you can’t give happiness to other. After all its life and everything always in fact only sometimes things happen according to our wishes or expectations. Uncertain and constantly changing life! Though how strong you think of yourself or you express yourself as there is very delicate, soft corner deep inside your heart. Sometime it bursts out sometime just lost inside of you. We get hurt, we get betrayed, we are heartbroken, in chaos, frustrated, angry, just lost when all the good moments swipe just in a blink of eye and everything changes into thundering scary black night. Trust me, it’s not only you and me who suffers like this, millions of people were, are and will be suffering. The pattern of suffering differs but yes every one of us does suffer. We think our problem as the biggest one but seriously if you compare then it will be better to compare with less fortunate than us because yes there are even more people who have worst condition. How hard we try to plan our life, life has its own plan for us. Only thing we have control of is ourselves. We can’t change the things that happened or stop the thing that is happening but we can change our reaction to them. Yes, we are our own boss. I am the master of this life, my life. I know I don’t have control in its start or its end but I have control in how I want to live it. Life is not about what happens to us but how we deal with it. I cannot set any rule but only thing I can do is have my control over myself, the self control. I don’t want to be the slave of my mood, I want to rule myself and it’s only me whom I can rule in any way I want. This is the power I have, every one of us have. But we always don’t realize about it and let our life run haphazardly like the vehicle without control over steering, brake and accelerator.

Cloth For All Campaign!

This is freaking cold winter. Though we are under blanket wearing all the warm clothes we have, still we complain, “Oh! God This is too cold winter. I miss the warm summer.”
Just imagine, how you would feel if you had just one thin pair of cloth to cover your body, No blanket No shawl No slippers. And you have no any option rather than spending your night awake near the fire which is only way to protect you from cold. Imagining also makes us shiver I guess. What if it is the reality?
Yes it is bitter reality for twelve house hold people residing in Terai region of Siraha, Saptari etc, homeless people and children, street children etc 
They don’t have enough money to buy cloths and slippers for them. But I believe many of us have cloths which we just throw away in some corner of the store room or closet thinking those cloths are out dated, not in the fashion, you wear it plenty of times already or may be it has small stains or is torn or is quite old.
What if those cloths could be brought into good order to wear and give to those people who are living very hard lives this winter due to lack of cloths. Do you have any second thoughts? Please don’t think but act. Just search those cloths which are consuming usable space of your home and donate it for noble useful purpose. Please.
Our mission is to provide instant support of cloths to needy people. We are not funded yet and our main strength is our passion to pursue our goal which is ‘No one in Nepal will be suffered due to lack of cloths.’ After food cloth is the basic need required for human being. But issue of cloth is most ignored in development agenda. I know our goal sounds too ambitious and of course it is not possible in a blink. But yes, this is our first phase to help and we will be very grateful to those who would love to help.
We lack money because most of us all are student and basically we need money for processing and maintenance of cloths to bring it in good condition. Therefore, our first strategy is paying one Rs for every cloths you give. For example: If you are giving us 20 cloths you will be giving us 20rupees. It is not compulsory. If you don’t want to pay also, we will be more than happy to receive cloths only which are much valuable to us.
We welcome heartily to everyone who would like to help us and join in our cause/mission i.e., ‘No one in Nepal will be suffered due to lack of cloths.” We appreciate your valuable support. Lets join our hand together and provide warmth to the people and feel warmth inside our heart.

बिहान उठ्दा घर जस्ताको तस्तै अर्कै ठाउँमा

एकचोटी कल्पना गर्नुस त राती तपाईं आफ्नो घरको कोठामा मज्जा सँग सुत्नुभएको छ । बिहान निन्द्रा खुल्छ आफ्नो आङ तान्दै झ्यालको पर्दा खोल्दा तपाईं अर्कै ठौउमा हुनुहुन्छ । राती सुत्दा तपाईंको घर एक ठाउमा थियो बिहान उठ्दा अर्कै ठाउमा छ ।यस्तो घर हिडेको कल्पना धेरै कम मान्छेले नै गर्नसक्छन तर सुन्दै अचम्म लाग्ने यस्तै घटना भएको छ तीनथाना गाबिस व डा न ५ काठमाडौका सुनिल कुमार यादवको घरमा । यस्तो कहिले नदेखेको नसुनेको अचम्मको घटना घटेपछी यो घर र ठाउ हेर्न मान्छेहरुको ओइरो नै लागेको छ त्यहाँ कुनै ठुलो मेला लागेजसरि । केही महिना अगाडी जती बेला लगातार बर्षाले विभिन्न ठाउमा बाढी - पहीरो गएको थियो लगातार बर्षा भएर धेरै ठाउको जनजीवन प्रभावित भएको थियो । डाडाको माथी को घर जगै सहित लगभग २००मिटर तल जगै सहित आइपुगेर थापाक्क अडियो ।घर भित्र बसेकालाई सायद भुइचालो गएको होला भन्ने लागेछ तर बिहान उठ्दा घर त नाइट बसको यात्रामा निदाउदा एक ठाउ आखा खुल्दा अर्को ठाउ जस्तै भएछ । 

एकजना बुढी मान्छे भन्दै थिइन्, "यत्रो बर्ष भइयो यस्तो घटना न कहिले देखेको थिए न कहिले सुनेको थिए ।सब भोले बाबा शिवको लीला हो ।" यो घटना शिवजी को ठुलो चाड तीजकै सेरोफेरो मा भएको थियो ।एक युवक आफ्नो अर्को साथिलाई भन्दै थिए,"त नि यतै तिरको परिस राती निन्द्रा लागयो भन्दैमा मज्जाले सुत्ने हैन नि फेरी भोली बिहान अर्कै तिर होलास ।" हुन पनि यो घटनाले वरिपरि रहेका घरहरुलाई पनि डर पैदा गरेको छ । एक जना व्यक्ती भन्दै थिए,"जे भए पनि अब यो घटनाले मान्छेलाई सचेत बनाएको छ जहाँ पाए त्यही जग्गा किन्नु र घर बनाउनु अगाडि!”

प्रकृती साच्चिकै अचम्मको छ । विज्ञानले जती सुकै प्रगती गरे पनि प्रकृतिको अगाडी लाचार नै छ । कुनबेला कस्तो घटना घट्न सक्छ र कुन प्रलय आउला भन्नै सकिन्न ।तर सायद अलिक होश पुर्याइयो भने त्यसबाट हुने क्षति अलिक कम हुन्थ्यो कि !

the meaning of life is changing

Don’t know 
what is this chaos

I thought I always have know lot

But again I am knowing lot more.

Breeze of every morning

brings new sun rays
and the new days

These eyes are the same

World is the same

People around is the same

but still time is changing

I am changing

The meaning of life

The perspective I had 

is changing

Constant flux,

Ups and downs

New experiences

New bondings

Newer visions
And
the same still new World.

I know I have to get going

May be this is how life goes on!
